The Scottish Fire & Rescue Service is seeking a Pipe Major to lead the Band through 2014 and beyond.
After a long period leading the Grade 2 Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Pipe Band and now representing the newly formed Scottish Fire and Rescue Service our current Pipe Major Robert Shaw is stepping down at the end of the 2013 season.
The band is strongly supported within the organisation and has excellent provision for practice premises, maintenance of equipment, uniforms, and transport to pipe band events.
Applicants should have a track record of playing in the higher grades of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association and have the ability to demonstrate good interpersonal and leadership skills.
The continuous encouragement, development and progression of the pipe band in the future is paramount to the role along with upholding the values of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
The closing date for this position is Friday 9th August with interviews being carried out week commencing 19th August.
