Celtic Connections 2008
GLASGOW’S city centre was bathed in torchlight and echoed with bagpipe music on Wednesday night as the 15th Celtic Connections festival kicked off.
Accompanied by the pipe bands of Strathclyde Fire And Rescue and ScottishPower, a parade of stilt-walkers, 200 torch-bearers, pupils from Parkview Primary in Summerston, and Lord Provost Bob Winter marched from George Square to the Royal Concert Hall to mark the start of the annual event.
